Sunday, March 09, 2008 (PST) - Clumber Duathlon

Congrats to all those who competed at Clumber. Clarkey was knocked off his bike.He has broken the neck of his femur. He is in Bassettlaw hospital probably till Weds. He isn't allowed to walk for 6 weeks.

He says if anyone wants to pop around to his house for  a cup of tea, they would be more than welcome.

Clarkie

Considering the injury, Clarkie is remarkably cheerful. He opted for a 'local' rather than the knockout drops and then watched on a screen as they inserted 3 pins. He says it was fascinating!!

The more shocking news is that he was knocked off his bike by a fellow competitor who hit him from behind. This guy stayed on his bike but then continued the race without stopping. Pretty poor!

By Jon Senior on Tuesday, March 11, 2008 (PST)
Spoke to Clarkie this morning. He sounds surprisingly well considering. He is coming out of hospital tonight. His mobile number is probably in circulation but if anyone wants it, post a message here and I will pass it on.

Clumber Park Duathlon
By chrisg on Tuesday, March 25, 2008 (PST)

Alright Clarkie

Sorry to hear about your injury, hope you are recovery is going well.

I have been looking at the photos of the Clumber bike leg and there is one of you shoulder to shoulder with another chap crossing a bridge, is this where your accident happened?

If you want to have a look and check if it is the culprit there are two images on pages 11 and 12 of 34

All the best

Chris
