Rother Valley Bike Course
Posted: Friday, April 11, 2008 5:34 AM (PST)

The bike course for the Rother Valley sprint and olympic races are on the pace setter events website. The course is NOT the same as Gary Howard's events at Rother Valley a few years back

If you are doing the race you really should take a look at it - it has 6 (SIX) right turns, some steep ups and downs and some sections with a poor road surface

As I do 90% of my bike training on these roads, if anyone wants to go round it, please post here - we can nip round one saturday morning

Or maybe we could arrange a mass trip after the first swimming on 24th May?

Thanks Jon

I think that's a great idea. I will see how many of the women's squad are doing the race.

With swimming starting a week early, it gives us 2 weekends to choose from.

If anyone wants to go after swimming on 17th post here so we can sort out arrangements.

From what I can work out on the map on pacesetter, transition for the actual event is on the main side (opposite where we swim) - so it might be best if those travelling to swimming in cars park on the main side and cycle round to swimming so we don't have to fiddle about with gear in the wrong place....

Haven't been round the course yet but talking to Will at the last westfield, he reckoned it might be a bit over distance...

  • Triathlon Training: For Peak Performance, 3 Is Not Better Than 1
There's a reason it's hard to excel in three sports at once, physiologists say. The training necessary to do your best in one sport is likely to counteract what is needed to be good at another. But the ? remains: Can you train optimally for three sports at the same time?...
