Club Elton Cafe - Last Ride Posted by bobpringle on Monday, June 23, 2008 (PST) The bad news is that Elton Cafe, probably the best cafe in the world (for cyclists anyway), is closing in October. I suggest we mark its passing with a social ride to pay our respects read on .... Elton is easy to miss - close to Bakewell/Youlgreave but off the main track. However the cafe has been a magnet for cyclists for many years - open fires, good food etc. In October, the owners are closing down to concentrate on their B&B. I suggest a big club ride out there perhaps on Sunday 5th October. We might need 2 routes; a shorter one from Hathersage (Clarkie may be back on his bike?), meeting up with a longer one from Sheffield. Anyone interested?
