Club Championships 2017

Pool Based Sprint – Southwell, 23rd April

400m swim, 17.6km bike, 5km run

One of the earliest races of the season, a chance for more experienced members to test out their Winter training and for those new to the sport, a pool based swim is great for your first race. In fact a third of entrants are novices, so you won’t be alone!

Open Water Sprint – Leeds, 3rd September

750m swim, 24km bike, 6.4km run

Set in Roundhay Park, the swim is in the lake and is then followed by what is described as a “picturesque and challenging” bike route. The well supported run course should see members through to the end.

Standard Distance – Rother Valley, 4th June

1500m swim, 42.5km bike, 10km run

We thought it would be great to have our open water training venue as the location for our standard distance championships. Those who are new to open water swimming can get some practise in on location, and those wanting to push the pace can get some training sessions in on the course before race day.

Middle Distance – Sundowner, 16th September

1900m swim, 90km bike, 21km run

We love this race! A midday Saturday start, a welcome change from the often 4-5am alarm at most races! Camping on site makes this a very relaxed environment, and entry includes a Yorkshire meal, live music and fully licensed bar after the race….what more could you want?! It’s quite a flat and fast course too, for those chasing a PB.
