The first “Talkin’ Tri” seminar for 2018 will take place at the University Arms on the 12th January starting at 7:00 and probably finishing around 8:00 to 8:15 pm. After the presentation, it’s hoped that most people will join us for a new year curry at Butler’s Balti House on Broad Lane at 8.30pm.
Our guest speaker is Dr. David Claxton from Sheffield Hallam University. Dave teaches sport and exercise physiology at both undergraduate and postgraduate level and has published widely in this field. His interests, amongst others, include the principles of training and the assessment of sport performance. Dave has agreed to talk about recent developments in the field of exercise physiology as it relates to endurance sports like triathlon. Hopefully, he’ll share his secrets of how he helped to knock 5 minutes from the 25 mile TT of an already very successful cyclist and triathlete!
Dave has previously been a keen triathlete and was an early member of Sheffield Tri so he should be able to answer all of your training questions. This should definitely be a date for your diary.
Please email Nicola at firstname.lastname@example.org if you would like to attend.
