BTF Level 2
I came to triathlon from rowing in 2009 starting with Skipton Sprint Triathlon (in swimming trunks) and soon after joined STC and took part in the club’s own legendary Hathersage Hilly Triathlon. Over the next couple of years I became the owner of a tri-suit and entered a number of sprint and standard distance events, building up to my first middle distance race at the Vitruvian – an event and distance I’ve returned to a number of times.
Having worked in the fitness industry as a fitness instructor and personal trainer and later in NHS Exercise Referral programmes, as well as having been a coach at City of Sheffield Rowing Club it was a natural progression for me to get my BTF Level 2 coaching qualification. Initially I worked with the junior section of the club while my daughter was a member, before moving on to work with seniors, mainly focusing on swim coaching.
I love coaching and seeing athletes develop and enjoy their sport, and have found coaching others also benefits my own performance. As I’ve developed as a triathlete I’ve been lucky enough to represent the GB Age Group squad at European and World Championships at Sprint and Standard distance triathlon and the long distance aquabike.
