I studied in Sheffield initially because of an interest in climbing. I started running, joining a local running club. Then over time I became interested in cycling and it was not long before I entered my 1st triathlon in the Lake District as part of a relay team. Two years later I decided to do the whole thing as a solo entry and loved every minute of it (the swimming part retrospective of course). I went on do mixture of sprint and Olympic distances and some Age Group racing. I started taking my children to the junior section and attending the open water sessions at Rother Valley. My swimming got better with the help of the coached sessions from the club and I met some great people. My involvement with the juniors expanded as I gained 1st level 1 and then level 2 qualifications. I still coach the juniors most Saturdays and the occasional adult session. I have been on the club committee the last few years to as the junior co-ordinator.
