REGULAR TRAINING SESSIONS

Sheffield Triathlon Club runs a programme of regular training sessions for its members (in addition to our annual training races and the renowned Hathersage Hilly Triathlon)

Non-members are welcome to try out a session or two before becoming a member.

Our team of qualified coaches lead the sessions and are always happy to advise and answer your questions.

The range of sessions does change through the year as may change in light of various circumstances and needs. For example open water swimming only operates in the summer months (a swimming specific summer membership is available)

If you are unsure about joining in do drop us a message or post on our Facebook Group. All abilities

are welcome, we're passionate about facilitating those new to the sport. And if you already have a sporting background we also foster and encourage intermediate and advanced level athletes in all three disciplines - many of our members achieve fantastic results regularly on the national and global triathlon scene.

SOCIAL RUNS AND RIDES

(see calendar for specific details)

Sunday Gravel Rides:

Gravel Rides are on the 3rd Sunday of each month

A No-Need-To-Book ride, but check the Members' Facebook page for details, closer to the time. Typically we meet at Hunters Bar or Millhouses Park for a sociable ride of c.2 hours.

Sunday Road Bike Rides:

Our social road rides are normally on the 4th Sunday of each month

Various ability groups dependant on numbers but no one gets left behind :-) Cake stop typically half way and/or at the end!

Track Running (Woodburn Road):

The sessions, shared with a local running club, consist of a warm-up and run technique session followed by track based interval training working in groups according to pace, with the track environment enabling us to accommodate runners of all abilities in the same session.

Social Running (Millhouses Park Tennis Courts):

Thursdays 7pm (weekly)

A No-Need-To-Book social run typically around local trails and woods in the Abbeydale/Ecclesall area.

REGULAR TRAINING

Coached Swimming (Graves Leisure Centre):

Saturdays 6pm (weekly)

This hour-long session contains a mixture of drills and fitness training, with a high coach ratio, so this is a good session for developing your technique. Sign-up via CLUBSPARK

Open Water Swimming:

Saturday mornings during summer, 8:30am to 10:00am

Rother Valley swimming takes place each Saturday morning. There's a safety kayak, but no formal coaching. You'll need a wetsuit unless you are an experienced open water swimmer but don't worry if you've not swum outdoors before - we'll help you get started. You'll need to be a Club member to attend these sessions: Summer Swim memberships are available HERE

Strength & Conditioning (Graves Leisure Centre):

An hour, designed to support injury prevention, address muscular imbalances and develop triathlon performance through relevant exercises and training methods. Typically, a session will involve appropriate mobility, strength, and stability training specifically for triathlon. The programme will also support overall health and well-being. This will be an effective weekly session to incorporate into your off-season training.
